Since purchasing the hiring system, I have gone from three cabs, about five drivers and one dispatcher to having five cabs, about fifteen drivers, a general manager, an assistant manager, and enough dispatchers to cover all of our business hours. If you’re wondering whether Mr. Terrance’s products are worth the money, ask yourself instead what solving your most frustrating problem in your business is worth to you. Good training is not cheap, but letting a problem fester can be costly in many ways.

I highly recommend Mr. Terrance’s hiring system.

Finding and keeping quality drivers and dispatchers has been the single biggest challenge for me in my business.

Prior to reaching out to Mr. Terrance, I was working 7 days a week for about 16 hours a day average. My only time with my family was when I ran inside my apartment to stuff some food in my mouth. The choices before me were to do something immediately to start regaining some of my time and sanity, or else quit or sell the business.

Although I was a little suspicious of Mr. Terrance’s website at first, speaking to him personally and seeing how invested he was in his business helped to sway me, and I decided to give his hiring system a try. In the system, Mr. Terrance goes far beyond the typical “Drivers Wanted” Craigslist and Newspaper ads and shows how such ads can actually be counterproductive.

One thing I found most helpful was how to incentivize my staff to find prospective drivers for me. This has led to the addition of several quality drivers to our fleet.

Another important aspect of the hiring system for me was how I present my business. Presenting my business as a respectable organization with an application and interview process has helped to attract job seekers with a more professional mentality.

There are other methods he describes in the system which I have not even tried yet, but which I could easily do if I needed to. As always, there was work involved on my end, but Mr. Terrance’s hiring system helped me to focus my energies in the right direction instead of doing the same old thing and getting the same bad results (which, according to him, is the definition of “insanity”!)

Since purchasing the hiring system, I have gone from three cabs, about five drivers and one dispatcher to having five cabs, about fifteen drivers, a general manager, an assistant manager, and enough dispatchers to cover all of our business hours. While things are still somewhat chaotic at times, my business is moving in a good direction and I have regained a lot of time with family.

If you’re wondering whether Mr. Terrance’s products are worth the money, ask yourself instead what solving your most frustrating problem in your business is worth to you. Good training is not cheap, but letting a problem fester can be costly in many ways.

I don’t have a full 12 month yet, so hard to tell accurately… but if business keepsgrowing the way it is, when we get to month#10 (with in mind a possible decline; slower months when it gets warmer) we could hit the best revenue year this company ever did (based on acquisition income statements).

Thank you Tom.

I know that I haven’t been quick on returning your email. I am working lots and sleeping very little.

I loved your email so much about the airport guy that I want, and I am working at making it happen here too!
(Email: We’ve 60 taxicab and this company has only 15 vehicles but they’re drying out our airport business )

We are doing great! Thanks for asking.

I am now 7 months after acquisition. I am a big fan of the principles and systems you teach and I think that we are definitively on the right path; less low $ trips, higher dollar trips and lots of marketing (which I find we always end up doing less than we plan). We also lost quite a few clients that were draining 80% of our energy for a small fare and small tip.

If you want to know what blows my mind the most so far, it’s the fact that my highest conversion in terms of advertising or marketing efforts is simply to put a suit and a tie on, attending the chamber of commerce meetings, breakfast and luncheon, saying I am the new owner of Aaron Taxi, we specialize in a upscale taxi service in particular airports and our phone starts ringing!! ( I raised the price of airports by $10 {now $75} after I received your material and…drivers make more tips!)

After flipping through the first few pages, there was an AH-HA moment! We found ourselves saying, “This makes so much sense! Why haven’t we thought of this before?!”

I’ll admit that I was skeptical when I first purchased Tom’s book, 17 Critical Mistakes You Must Avoid That Can Ruin Your Taxi Business. Once I received the book though and started flipping through it, I realized that Tom really knows what he is talking about.

My business partner and I started a taxi company about a year ago with no prior experience of the business. We knew we were making mistakes from the get go, but we didn’t know what our mistakes were exactly. After flipping through the first few pages, there was an AH-HA moment! We found ourselves saying, “This makes so much sense! Why haven’t we thought of this before?!” It speaks of common sense principles, and yet I’m sure SO many other owners out there are making the same mistakes and don’t even realize it, at the expense of their livelihoods. I would highly recommend this book to anyone in the business.

Your material really got me thinking again and I am confident that I can now make this work.

I received the “Management System package” and to show how excited I was
about getting it, I have now been through ALL of it for the first time.

Overall, my observations so far are, as follows:

1) I like the program.  It is a lot of “Common Sense” (the ‘rare’ kind!).
At first I thought it was too ‘high level’ and not addressing the ‘front end
issues’ but as I went through it for a second time, I began to see how I
could apply it (the ‘metrics’ will really help here).

2) Things like “Maslows Hierarchy Of Needs” are not new to me (having
covered them in an MBA course in 1996 – but forgotten a lot of it by now
having not gotten round to applying it properly – shame on me!).
Nevertheless your material really got me thinking again and I am confident
that I can now make this work.

Generally, all good so far.

I am looking forward to your newsletter on ‘Corporate Loyalty Programs’.

The participation in Mr. Terrence’s coaching program was life-changing. When I enrolled in the program, I averaged about 60-70 fares per 12 hour shift. I am now averaging about 200 fares per 12 hour shift.

I have been in the taxi business for about 10 years now. When I enrolled in Mr. Terrence’s coaching program, my situation was very desperate. I was even thinking about closing my taxi business. I didn’t know or understand how I could proceed in it and what I could do next to improve my situation.

The participation in Mr. Terrence’s coaching program was life-changing. When I enrolled in the program I averaged about 60-70 fares per 12 hour shift. I am now averaging about 200 fares per 12 hour shift.

The secret to my success lies in the implementation or Mr. Terrence’s strategies. I have completely changed the way my dispatchers and drivers work.

Currently I am finishing integrating software and automating my taxi company. We are using a lot of information and advice received from Mr. Terrence. We have implemented regular mailings. We are working with our customer database. Our clients love the fact that we know them by name, that we remember their pickup and destination addresses.

We have implemented Mr. Terrence’s advice for drivers, too.

There has really been a lot of positive change in my business since I’ve started working with Mr. Terrence. I appreciate his help a lot.

Less work, yet more money. It’s great!

Overall, I really liked the training program by Mr. Terrence.

I have been in the taxi business for less than a year, so I am a newbie. Before I was in a different business. I’ve been offered to manage a taxi service and I agreed to do so. However, I felt that I was lacking experience and Mr. Terrence’s training program definitely helped me gain what I was missing.

The section about advertising was probably the most useful. I feel that I had a gap in regards to how to promote a taxi service. I didn’t know how to analyze taxi fares. I didn’t know what to pay attention to. I didn’t know how to increase profits. I am talking not about gross income, but profits. Now I know all these things.

Oh, here’s another thing. Before I was always afraid to raise my prices. Mr. Terrence has explained why I shouldn’t be afraid of it. It was an interesting and risky issue for my taxi service. In the past I was convinced that discounting was the way to go, but now I understand that it’s easier to do three $50 fares than fifty $3 fares. This resulted in me raising my prices by 20% to 30%. The amount of rides we do has indeed decreased. However, when I look at the money we are netting, I see an increase. It means that I am doing less work, but am making more money. That is totally awesome.

As they say, “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime”. I’ve learned “how to fish” and now know places “where to fish.” Thank you, Mr. Terrence!

I’ve been in the transportation business since 1999.

What did I get from Mr. Terrence’s coaching program?

First, I’ve met some great people from the taxi industry. It has been a pleasure.

Second. I did have some knowledge in regards to taxi marketing and advertising, but this knowledge was far from being structured. Most of the things I’ve been doing I’ve been doing intuitively. Now thanks to Mr. Terrence I have structure. I now know what to do and in what direction to go in my business. I’ve set my goals. I’ve gained an understanding on how to accomplish them.

Third. Before enrolling in Mr. Terrence’s program, I thought that having the latest software was a key to success in my taxi service. Now I understand that the software was a pole to catch the fish. As they say, “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime”. I’ve learned “how to fish” and now know places “where to fish.” Thank you, Mr. Terrence!

Taxis are essential for elderly people to get to doctors’ appointments, and
to stay connected with their friends and family. This large market is often
ignored by taxi businesses, or served badly. Mr. Terrance’s book and
newsletter provide taxi businesses the practical information they need to
attract and retain customers. It is a must-read for taxi businesses wanting to
serve this growing market.

I will be digesting the information for at least a few more months.

I have already implemented a lot from what I learned: I created new ads for my taxi service. I have also learned how to hire drivers and dispatchers properly. I loved the saying “Hire slow and fire fast.” It is brilliant. That’s something I definitely need to get better at.

Dear Tom,
Thank you for sending me this information all the time on the taxi business. I am not planning on opening up a taxi business, but I was planning on simply working for one and I wanted to be as valuable an employee as possible by knowing how to help my owner run a profitable business. But I am finding out in my reading, that I am also learning about business and marketing in general, and I consider this to be valuable to any future endeavor.
So I just wanted to say thank you!

At first I was really nervous. I had a lot of doubts: what if it’s a scam? What if there will be no coaching program? My hands were shaking when entering the credit card info. However, I can say that I have definitely got my money’s worth and much more.

I have been in the taxi business for 9 years.

That being said, I was lacking experience. I was lacking knowledge about the economics of the taxi business.

At first I thought that Mr. Terrence’s prices were too high. Also, I was quite skeptical about ordering something via internet. I had a lot of doubts: what if it’s a scam? What if there will be no coaching program?

How that I’ve graduated from the program I am convinced that Mr. Terrence should have changed more than he did. I definitely got my money’s worth and so much more. Also, for me personally the timing was perfect.

My mistrust has evaporated after the second training session. Mr. Terrence was talking about things that I knew were important, but before the training I couldn’t get myself to implementing them.

I am very interested in learning new things about my business, because I want to be making more money in it. Growth, profit increases, lifestyle improvement are the subjects that are really important to me.

At first I was very skeptical. What is this training? What is this newsletter? Does it really work? However, my mistrust has evaporated after the second training session. Mr. Terrence was talking about things that I knew were important, but before the training I couldn’t get myself to implementing them. Before the training I was doing all the things everyone else in the taxi business is doing. Now I do not want to be just another taxi company and I know what I need to do in order not to be it.

Here’s what was the most useful to me. First, I was glad to learn how to measure the success of my advertising. I now can save money and get more customers for my taxi service. Second, I can now find the right people to work for my taxi company, both drivers and dispatchers. I now have tools that let me select and chose the people I want and not just hire anybody.

I subscribed to the free newsletter about 4 months ago. In the mean time we set up a cab company in Malta greenr cabs limited and so far so good. Today I am going to purchase the paid book and will definitely come back and leave my feedback. I have to say that I would have been a bit lost without this book. Thanks
